So clearly the mother is hiding from the police. Whether that is because she committed a crime (maybe the first story she was involved in the crime of the woman) or they failed her before we don't know.

As for the picture, I think its a jail. He is trapped within the walls (he is the grey blob) and that's why he started with the outline since its all a cage with him in the middle. I'm guessing its because of how overprotective and anxious his mother got by being outside and thinking somebody is following them and watching them all the time.

The way everybody keeps weirdly repeating or reacting to her name makes me think she's doing identity theft, possibly of the kid's real mom... And of course the stalker is probably the kid's real dad, though why he doesn't go to the police is beyond me

But it's also hilarious how everybody realizes that they live in a world where drawings are supposed to be the explanation for everything, so they are laser focused on just trying to figure out the drawings... If they were handed that other kid's rhombus drawing they'd probably assume it was a map of future murders across Tokyo's wards.

why are these ladies not calling the police????

Depends on the “incompetent police” trope but the fact that the mom refused multiple times makes me think she’s hiding something /“plot twist” /subversion where she’s the “villain” the whole time

I need others to making theories because so far my dumb predictions are like:
1. The mama is actually crossdressing guy due to her heavy make up and wearing high neck fashion, the kids wearing lighter clothes so i assume its summer so why mama wearing jacket
2. The kid actually going to draw a door > the grey thing is dog's door > hes searching for a pet
3. Grey thing probably a tombstone because his mama seemed better after visiting graveyard > he memorized the kanji of family name 4. The guy with daughter actually kidnap the boy, the kid seemed willingly going outside so its actual possible that the kidnapper is someone he knew

Just wanted to point out a detail some might have missed. The building manager was surprised her son was a little kid.
Implying he thought her son was much older, hence his initial disinterest when the mother reported him missing ("Oh, another twenty-something's run off? Well lah-dee-dah."). Which further implies the mother is older than we're led to believe.

I feel that people guessing that the shape of the building is the link to the original drawing are probably right. I'm seeing door and gravestone being the primary guesses, I'm thinking door seems more like the logical answer since it would be easier to link to the mystery stalker side plot.

Edit: Been thinking a bit more and maybe the drawing is suppose to be a door or building with some sort of rhomboid or other complicated shape that he couldn't draw properly so he decided to make the apartment. So him disappearing might be him going off to look at that place again, which would link the drawing mystery with this whole stalker/missing child subplot.

I mean, even if the building manager doesn't know anyone personally surely she'd go back and forth out of the building almost everyday to pick her son up from work so he would've seen a kid versus some hidden son plot twist like henna ie had

But yeah other than some super strict parent i don't think they'd care too much of a 20 year old run off unless he's causing trouble/took money to play around lol

unless she also hallucinated it, it'd also be worth it if only for the other residents sake to report that a man with a knife went into their building

Like Tsama pointed out, the twist I think is that Take is her son, and Yuuta is Take's son (so her grandson). She is totally disguising herself because for some reason her real identity is probably a criminal or something, so this is the only way she can care for her grandson.

We see flashback of Yuuta visiting the family grave with his father in chapter 4, which is how he knows how to write Konno in kanji, ergo we can strike Yuuta being kidnapped out of the possibilities.

Also the nursery girl pretty much tells us the answer where Yuuta goes off to. He was drawing the family gravestone, hence the tall rectangle and the gray crayon, but then he probably realises drawing a gravestone isn't really appropriate so he changed it to his apartment building. The gray spot being where their apartment room is located is purely coincidental, tho if not for that, no one will probably notice it.

Anyway, Yuuta probably misses his father (Take) and goes to the family grave on his own (like how unsupervised children wander on their own). This convinces me that Take is actually also the Ren from the first arc. Rereading the first arc again. Ren's son was born sometime in 2009, and his last blog post was in 2012, so 3 years had passed. Sasaki mentioned that it has been 1.5 years since 2012 meaning it's 2014, so Ren's son would be 4.5 years old right now, might as well 5. Assume some time has passed and he is nearing 6 years old (sometime in 2015). The nursery girl mentioned next year Yuuta will be old enough to enter primary school. Primary school in Japan begins for kids age 6, meaning the timeline does fit with Yuuta starting primary school sometime in April 2016.

Additionally, Yuuta's mom said it has been 3 years since Ren died. Assuming Ren died sometime in 2012 (around his last blog post), 3 years later would be 2015, again giving further credence to my deduction.

Edit: Yep, Chapter 4 shows that this arc takes place in April 2015, so Yuuta would be 6 come September and thus of age to go to primary school in 2016.

The thing I got from the drawing this time is that maybe the kid's drawing is something like tombstone cuz if we look back at chapter 4 the shape of tombstone is rectangle and the name is on the top. And if this is the case why is the kid draw a tombstone if the teacher told the children to draw their mother. So my guess is that tombstone is the kid's dead mother and the person who stand next to the kid is his father. Which can also mean that the woman that with the kid now is the man's mother or something cuz surely no one will call you "little (ur name)" or "(ur name) chan" if they aren't close to you. And if we talk about a man and a kid that is motherless we got the previous case which is about the drawing of pregnant woman. We got something like the man and woman live with this third person whose identity is still unknown.

yeah still concerning that a man with a knife is supposedly chasing her tho unless she's just seeing it as a knife or so
unless it was an undercover cop or something (or maybe she dreamed that part, it did mention her falling asleep at one point before yuuta went missing)

It can be that the target is Yuuta himself rather than the woman specifically, or maybe just both of them. Reminder that if Take is Ren, then Take pretty much died soon after posting his last blog post, that's a big red sign that whoever targeted Yuki might now target Ren/Take and the rest of the family.
