(not a spoiler but just in case) at the time of reading this arc's equivalent in the novel it was my theory that
this woman was the third person in ren and yuki's flat and was also ren's mother. ren made a throwaway comment about having a veteran midwife on hand, and I was certain it was her in the drawing delivering yuki's baby although I had no idea what yuki could have done to wrong her or how she could have ensured her death. also figured she might have been the one ren referred to as his most beloved as such a strong attachment to his mother might have contributed to some strife between her and his wife

all this based on the traditional enmity between mothers- and daughters-in-law lol

Thanks!

dang what a determined kid, other than going out to a park to play i would've never been bold enough to go out myself

As someone who's read the original book this manga is based on (I highly recommend reading it once you finish this manga, Uketsu's writing style is very unique and approachable in my opinion), it's very interesting to see what everyone is theorizing so far! I wonder if there's going to be any changes to the narrative like how there was with the adaptation of Strange Houses... So far it's stuck to the book but I'm very interested to see if there's any major departures.

is it available online in English somewhere?

That's some next level makeup skills, she could make bank working in a beauty parlor :meguupog:

I was thinking 'man those products must be expensive' but i'm a cheapskate with makeup and don't bother with foundation/wrinkle cream or so or just rarely use concealer for eye bags/stick to eye products

(altho i think most beauty shops/spas/salons other than doing facials and stuff idk if they would go just for that kinda stuff versus buying take home products b/c that might be hard to go to daily versus just like a 'big' day like some celebration/wedding tho idk how many ppl would have the money to do it outta 'curiosity'/just for fun and not a specific event, i do remember googling it before and it just gave me suggestions for wedding services/looks, idk if some teens would still use it for prom /graduation/etc or so but i imagine these days with social media and tutorials they'd do this kinda stuff themselves versus some fancy hairstyle and some 'upper class' kinda makeup)

oof that stabbing, forgot about that man for a moment but why even open the door versus calling the cops unless she also did something legally sus (tho stabbing someone would make it worse)
