@thaeril He's ALWAYS been like that, and that's the center of the plotline. There's a saying that girls go out with boys and hope he'll change but he'll never change for a reason. This isn't the type of manga where you can expect MC to "grow up".

And it's not like there wasn't a precedent - Takamura was already getting spoiled by Senko and they grew more clingy with each other by the day. Them becoming official just tore down all that emotional restraint.
