When you really get down to it, this whole site is based on piracy, hosting copyrighted works without a permission or license from the rightful owner. Keeping that in mind, is it a shocking surprise there could be a little less than child friendly avatar images around? This is basically what amuses me the most when I see threads like this. If you fear the dark, don't venture out after the sun has set.

Your absolutely right about how the website is designed. Some unfortunately can’t ignore stuff, so instead of blocking they post a thread. I’m sure some have not
seen how dark some doujin series can get. At most all the avatars that some find lewd or offensive seem tame to me.

Transformative maybe. But It might fall under speculation. As one to might question what changed besides language.

The suggestion for some setting or toggle to stop loading/showing profile pics outside the profile page sounds like a good idea to me.
And would that really be all that much work? Considering mobile users already aint seeing them outside profile pages.

If it aint too much work and could prevent the constant sprouting of new threads like this, I'd consider it worth doing atleast.
(Hell, even some temp solution like using mobile version on comp for those that want to, might calm things down.)

You have to review every single pfp on this website and tag the one that's innaproppriate, not to mention that pfp can be changed at the user's will so they have to be reviewed over again. Unless you use an algorithm but we know that those make mistakes sometimes and people flip out when they do.

These suggestions never said anything about selectively hiding specific profile pics, so please stop talking as if they did.
It's about a toggle to simply stop showing ALL profile pics completely outside the profile pages, kinda like the mobile version already does.
(Why would you need to review any pfp's when it's a toggle that simply hide them all regardless?)

Do you understand now why it aint such a complicated big deal to implement as you've tried to make it?
Suggest you read posts more thoroughly in the future rather than just assume what they're going to say.

As for what the other guy on the first page suggested, the two examples he gave was simply a toggle for showing/hiding pfp's and a toggle for showing/hiding usernames.
All users have their personal numbers afterall that could be shown instead of usernames when hiding usernames if such a toggle was implemented.
(Your number is 61969 and mine is 5334, as two examples.)

Not too complicated stuff that should help lessen the amount of new threads like this, although might want to add a new bochi teach mangadex chapter about it if/when implemented. =)

I don't think whether or not anything will change will come down to "Is it hard to do", but more along the lines of "Is it worth whatever effort it will take", and to be completely honest? I really don't feel like it'd be worth the effort, as small as it potentially might be, to make any change over how this site handles the forums with usernames/profile pictures, seems like more of a time sink then anything to me.

Then again, only time will tell if anything will change, but I somehow doubt more threads like this will be anything more then a drop in the ocean of reasons.

I don't know what children have to do with any of this, but if you find someone with a NSFW avatar, don't make threads about it but just report that user to a moderator via the DMs. We don't currently have plans to do anything else about it.
