It’s interesting, it does follow the cliche of mid fight flashback villain or hero backstory quite a bit. That’s pretty typical and okay with it.
It does get pretty boring with the MCs Power, you’ll find out all she does is copy other abilities to use. There’s nothing more special to it.
What I liked about Unordinary John is that he can copy powers but make use of them even better and more creatively. So her ability falls flat intelligent wise making it boring to me.
They do try to explain the mechanic behind her power but there isn’t too much risk quite honestly. I would like it if she was more of a glass cannon putting her life on the line to take down the ultimate boss. She eats kicks and fists like a champ making it seem a tad silly sometimes.
I do like they gave her personality with some traits and at times it’s really funny watching the character dynamics. I wish they expressed more of her intelligence like they did in the earlier chapters, I feel like later on it’s not so prevalent. They mystery and planning isn’t there really.
Later chapters just feel like they’re extending the series, I get that it’s a cash cow, but then you run into problems like Tower of God has, when the f is the series gonna be over? The worst stories are the ones with no endings. It’s only 150+ chapters in, but as time goes on it also can fatigue the writer/artist creatively making a lot of moves just cliche or boring at times.
It’s a good read but later chapters feel a tad underwhelming expert for the occasional plot progression and pretty funny character scenes. 7/10
