woah it became more horror-ish than expected! it seems like the notes written for himself were initially to keep him reality, but perhaps he got mixed with dreams so his notes don't help as much? (i.e. that if he has five fingers then he's in a dream). the vagueness and confusion (when did he start writing down his dreams, for example) give dream type of vibe, and i wonder if that was the intention
