Didn't read the chapter yet but I had to say that the first chapter is awesome.

The mother didn't seem too concerned with Hibiki's literary career when it was brought up during the parent-teacher conference, so I expect that she honestly cares more about Hibiki going out with her friends than she does about Hibiki winning the prize.

EDIT: well, she did seem excited that Hibiki had won a publisher's newcomer's award, but nowhere near as excited as she was about Hibiki having a "best friend".
