The story was fine until now, but this is just appalling writing. Really, even thought the attack was predicted and he had the item in his hands he "somehow" let the enemy just grab an item from his hand without putting it on himself. After ALREADY KNOWING HE WAS SABOTAGING HIM DURING THE FIGHT AND HAVING BEEN A THIEF HIMSELF. This is just a joke.
