@Qelix It was that or driving her entire company to the ground by making an enemy of the biggest shot in the whole country, making her entire family suffer in turn just because she wanted to be a good mother, not to mention that she pretty much already knows about her daughter's feelings (which are pretty darn clear) and also has, while not the whole picture, a rather close idea of their circumstances.

Adult's circumstances ain't nice, specially when the other part is a spaz that engages two complete strangers without asking them just because he thought they looked good together solely by their external appearance.

The poor mother was against the wall there.
