I don't know how I feel about romance in this series, from one side of the story it seems like Kanba and Izumi were meant to be if she wasnt a failure in her "before" life...
On the other side, current Kanba IS 20 years older than Izumi, even she aknowledges that in the cafe.

When you remember that he's a HS freshman experiencing his first crush on his childhood bestie that was nice to him even though he was the fat kid while going through ALL OF THE HORMONES, yeah it makes sense. Also, the people ragging on him for his reaction...seriously? The entire cast are all dumb fuck teenagers.
