I don't know how I feel about romance in this series, from one side of the story it seems like Kanba and Izumi were meant to be if she wasnt a failure in her "before" life...
On the other side, current Kanba IS 20 years older than Izumi, even she aknowledges that in the cafe.
So yeah... Idk how to feel.
Izumi is a fine lad. He's a teen and plot wise, he actually has been shafted so it makes sense metaphorically and literally that for his own arc he's struggling with. I do like how he views his feelings as 'dirty' so it's like he's got this catholic shame that intensified.

When you remember that he's a HS freshman experiencing his first crush on his childhood bestie that was nice to him even though he was the fat kid while going through ALL OF THE HORMONES, yeah it makes sense. Also, the people ragging on him for his reaction...seriously? The entire cast are all dumb fuck teenagers. Did you people REALLY expect them to not make "dumb fuck teenager" mistakes and decisions?!
I mean isn't her entire thing just treating everyone like kids to be nurtured since the start (while also course correcting her own life)? Izumi is being an insecure little bitch about it but from the Koharu's POV, he is just another kid in her nursery of troubled youth? Though of course he doesn't know about it.
So the question is, will the story treat it as such and make Koharu put him down nice and easy due to the massive perspective difference (she was 35 when she regressed) or will it go all in with the romance. Can't see it being the latter because even in universe, she acknowledges that she is mentally a grown ass adult.
