is this axed by publisher because of of low rating or sales? or axed by the mangaka because the mangaka wanted to end it, like the mangaka have some life problems or no longer interested in continuing the story?

From an article I read late last year, it was axed by the publisher and they did plan for another volume which is why chapter 18 was set up for the continuation but then chapter 19 was their way of letting the mangaka end the story with 1 final chapter. I've looked around and have not seen any other works by the artists or author which leads me to believe this might be their only works. (If anyone can find more manga by them I would love to see it!)
