honestly I know that the mother and father has stuff going on in their lives and we're supposed to not be too mad at them, but seriously, fuck them both.

Had it not been for the restaurant owners (whose names I don't remember) those girls wouldn't be this happy and alive today, and it's very clear that neither of the parents care enough about them to be concerned for their children's well-being most of the time.

Maybe I'm just being over-sensitive and projecting but srsly I'm gonna skip every chapter with the parents.

Definitely looking forward to finding out more about the mom situation. While we mostly have scraps to go on there and it sounds like Yayoi is irresponsible and a terrible parent, I'm wondering what the angle with the dad is going to be. The simple explanation viewing him favorably is that he has to work to pay for their apartment + food and is busy with that, which makes some sense. Would not explain why he has to work a place/profession that leaves him away for ages at a time though. And that's mostly just making assumptions in his favor here.

While it may be true that Yayoi was irresponsible and/or terrible as a parent, she was also still in highschool when Suu was born. Neither are good parents, that's for sure.
