KanzakiYuu had it right above - the mental gymnastics the author is having to trot out to get his title heroine the win have passed beyond believable. In doing so, he's also had to turn Iemori from a nice guy into a nice guy who is also a complete twit who believes anything he's told.

Pressed? Nah, you misunderstand numpty. If the author is going to castrate Iemori into a complete twit who accepts everything Himarin says at face value, then he absolutely deserves her. The moral of this story is that you can get anything you want as long as ethics aren't important to you. If you enjoy that idea, then you do you. Personally, I would have preferred ACTUAL character growth instead of dumbing down Iemori to fit the title character's ambiguous relationship with the truth.
