mom might be okay with it but the son really got fucked over. even if the father really loved the mom and the son most. there's technically nothing he has to show for it.
He met his father for 204 fucking days over 17 years and for half of that he wasn't even conscious as a human. Left them piss poor too. Like the least he could've done was up their standard of living.

Not to mention he wasn't really sneaking around. Yuzu was an active participant and the grandfather was there the entire time watching them and listening to their full conversation without showing any hint that it was wrong. Getting hit in that situation, I'd expect a teenager to run away from home... again.
