Unlike the typical incest fetish, this seems like a thought-provoking story of having your world turned upsidedown and forbidden love. With the "sudden step-siblings" trope that can be excused as non-blood related and without a familial bond (Days with My Stepsister) this one tackles it by finding a way to make it a "sudden siblings" storyline. I had been thinking of writing a story myself that would also involve a two-timing father and his death causing the meeting of illegitimate half-siblings, a blossoming relationship between the two misfits, and how they would tackle the revelation of their blood relation when they're already deep into their romance. This does not seem like Oreimo territory to me and we're being told at face value what this story is.

I can't help but wonder if this is going to go like NakaImo. Haven't read that series, but the Wiki page felt like I was reading the character bios for a soap opera. If I remember right, the guy rejected a girl because she's his sister and dated the other main girl, only to find out that the girl who thought she was his sister was actually his cousin, while the one he's dating is his actual sister... only then it turns out he's adopted so her being his father's biological child doesn't really matter... Honestly I'm not really down for a wholesome romance between blood-related siblings, it just feels like a contradiction. But I'm not sure how I'd feel about a story where the relationships keep shifting over and over either.

It's the forbidden nature of it. The adrenaline of doing the very bad thing. Ultimately, it's the execution that matters to me. I don't necessarily gravitate towards incestual stories other than the good old Sudden Step-Siblings approach (Mostly because of the awkward nature of having to live with someone that you develop feeling for in a situation where you can't easily make a move.) but I already started this series and it has me intrigued.

The point is that they crossed a line before finding out that they are related and now have to deal with that in the back of their minds as they continue to get to know each other. They may not have ties through familial upbringing, but they still have to worry about getting close as that will lead to societal and possible inbreeding issues as they are blood-related as far as we currently know.

This is obviously not a hard incest story. If you're that much of a degen, there are other authors to fill that void for you. Or straight up hentai, most likely.

Oh, I understood your argument, but you also said that I should leave this series and move on. Why would I do that if I enjoy it? You seem to not understand that part of my argument. I even agreed that the incest tag doesn't fully work for this series, yet is still necessary for people that want to avoid anything that remotely involves it. Considering the complaints about them being related from those that missed the tag proves that point.

And again, I said "or" in regards to the degen allegation because I don't fully know their motivation to reading an incest manga. I was riffing, because I like to riff. Author keeps up the thing with dramatism and taboo romance like making them shown like blood related sibling , usually knowing those Mfs on authors it will be just a thing with that they aint actually Biologically related , yuzus mom prob had an "Affair" and that means they dont share the same father ofc.
And second obvious answer its just adoptive sibling like naomi being adopted for example
