I feel like the natives understand the term, and all its associations, better than you. Fact is, they're stereotypically loud, and promiscuous.
Are you retarded? or couldn't be bothered to google?

The term is literally a fashion sense... nothing to do with personality or sexual activity. It's literally their version of goth.

And that is how the natives use it, just because a bunch of authors do stupid shit doesn't mean it represents japan XD

Are you? You picked up on the stereotypes associated with the subculture, then decided that you, the foreigner, knew better than the authors and actively ignored the signal you were getting.

Case in point:

"Trust me bro. The authors? The ones making stuff for a broad market? They don't know Gyaru as well as I do."

Like, you saw it enough, from enough people, that you were relieved when one finally subverted the stereotype... before deciding that the exception to the rule is the representative example. This is what we call "willful ignorance".

My brother in Christ, if you think literal media does not represent culture, you're beyond help. Obviously authors represent culture. It's shocking you're smart enough to pick up on the stereotypes surrounding Gyaru (Which is apparently rare. Honestly, you did good.), but also dumb enough to disregard the message altogether (Which is apparently common. Honestly, you did bad.). Like, you don't seriously believe what you're saying right now. Because obviously authors (outside of The West) reflect the values, and attitudes of the current day in their work.

If you ever saw blackface in an old movie, you wouldn't chalk it up to just the director himself being racist, and say he just randomly came up with the idea out of nowhere; you'd rightly point out that this is an artifact of the broader culture of the time.

The amount of bullshit you spin is hilarious tho.

Good of you to self analyze.
"I know you are, but what am I?" A classic. Still, you realized how little sense you made, so that's a step. Now we're just playing the "Last word" game so you can avoid acknowledging that you would, in fact, say the blackface director is a reflection of the culture.

I completely forgot what happened before. I seem to have a vague memory of why they are in a classroom, but I can't remember when Nana got a new body.
