I can confirm that school is a waste of time and what you "learn" there is a lot less than what you would have learned had you studied something without being made to. Add to that the fact that you're usually taught by people you will realize at some point are incompetent. You will also forget 95% of what you learned there, since you would never again use it. I am currently doing my master degree and have come to realize what kind of retarded baboons the teachers in school were. Same thing with uni, with the difference that most professors are not below your level of intelligence at least (tutors usually are though) - you would learn a lot more studying from a good textbook or reading papers in your field rather than from any lecture you would ever have.
TL;DR: School sucks.
