That... was really unrealistic. And dumb. Even for a superficial shoujo.
But alas, at least the art style was good.

Rather than saying it was unrealistic... I would say that the guy edges in towards being really quite creepily and stalkerishly obsessed. Which is realistic enough, just maybe not as romantic as the framing here presents it as. Luckily this is shoujo manga, so he's probably not quite as dangerous as it seems like he should be—but really the story doesn't get so far as to find that out.

Didn't even mean the guy in this one xD I actually meant that the reaction of the others toward her birth mark was super off. I mean, she's the school idol, the mark isn't even hideous, it's in a place you can easily ignore - reaction of "it's so hideous I suddenly can't stand her" is super off. Especially seeing that her personality is quite friendly, too.
But yeah, you are right, the guy comes across more as obsessed than actually in love. But that's shoujo for you xD

Oh no, not a birthmark! This manga's use of something so benign as a plot point is almost hostile, tbh.
