Given how the cost of losing actually benefits Akiba given how he can maintain control over Shibuya, I say jump him and tie him down during the game. He's more likely to betray them than actually winning the game.

Something about this manga's character reminds of certain story, been having that feeling for awhile but never figured which until now.

I'm seeing quite a lot of similar dynamics with Drakengard 1; the two best fighters in the group are fucked in the head, the rest are either annoyingly useless or generally passive but at somepoint of the story suddenly perform violent act/aggression, and the closest thing to heroic character have extreme -philia.

On the second read-through I just noticed that the AI art of Shibuya has 3-fingered hands (angle made it hard to verify but I saw she has 4 knuckles but only 3 fingers)...actually went back into the manga to check the art, just in case and they do indeed have normal hands. I know, strange thing to notice and nothing to do with the translations or story, but I couldn't get it out of my head

Either way, great job with the translations...fastest I've ever read a manga that wasn't already completed

And yes, Akiba still needs to be turned into a fine red mist somewhere along the way...

Ouch wasn't expecting a drop down to F rank i thought it'd drop them back one rank or they just die. Though they pretty much skipped to S rank in the first place so it probably wouldn't be a big deal I guess.
Even with this revelation, I think it wouldn't make too much sense for Akiba to throw the game now since he got what he wanted and none of it is dependent on the game but rather the blackmail videos he has of Shibuya and Adachi.
But it wouldn't be the first time he did something that doesn't make sense.
