Huh. I'm pleasantly surprised that they didn't go with either the cat fanatic turning into a cat servant trope or the cat fanatic constantly annoying the cat recurring gag. Modoki cleanly communicated his boundaries (about being nuzzled) and Kashiwagi listened so they quickly become close friends. Considering how some romance manga with fluffies go over the top with that trope, it's honestly a nice change of pace.

Kinda funny that they referenced a certain black cat capable of cooking early on, and Modoki actually helped with baking cookies.
