One of the best shoujo manga out there. Yamamori-sensei art is just a blessing for the eyes.

agree, and the best boy/ best and msot healthy relationship out of the choices our mc had was the one that actually won for once, which is truly revolutionary for shojos.

The other option she had was so toxic and manipulative, glad it didnt go down that path.

So glad the guy I was rooting for won out. I plan to reread this with that in mind so my heart can actually enjoy the ride the second time. He's just plain better for the MC.

I think this is quite one sided seeing one half arc full of the heroine pounding more for sensei.
And when she thought they didn't work, I feel her sympathy is so strong for Mamura.

great first half, unsatisfying ending. relatively passive male characters.
best choice did not win.

The plot twist in the end was great .... It's the first shoujo manga I've read in which the character which is introduced later as love interest actually takes the girl... In my opinion suzume took a wise decision and not like any other manga where the female mc usually ends up with the first love interest no matter how he treats her...
P.s. I didn't mean to offend any mangaka... I'm sorry if it hurts anyone's feelings

The ending was what I was rooting for from the start! You almost never see the side character take the win but this felt stupidly fulfilling!

a really sweet, nostalgic manga. there's some unexpected (but well-made imo) choices that i really appreciated. makes you think about first love and how you move on from that. you should read if you debating

Since the official release has come out, I plan to reread it.
Honestly, I wept over a disappointing ending. I'm not disappointed because my choice didn't win --well, yes but no, this is different.
All feelings, changes, and interactions become like useless in the end. This is a good portrait for one-sided feelings, but the change from Suzume itself is not satisfying.
She is really stupid and inconsistent. Her ability to not be able to read the atmosphere is outrageous.
It's nice to see
Mamura
get a chance, but Suzume obviously moves because of sympathy and because her feelings won't be conveyed to
Sensei
. Like, roughly speaking, choosing safe. She is too burdened with her own thoughts and I actually feel sorry for
Sensei
.
It's a very mixed feelings for me.

I does feels like the mangaka had intended for Suzume to end with
sensei but It also seems to me that at some point it changed for her, kinda like it did for Suzume. I'm not a fan of age gap romances, but there's something specially weird when it's a teacher and a student, so the fact the manga addresses this with the uncle's input and even the other students (even if a bit too lightly tbh) was nice. I think that Mamuro was not fleshed out enough as a character in comparison with sensei, which is what may have made the ending less staying for some, as he didn't really seem like competition for sensei from that perspective, but at the end, the relationship with sensei was never that of euqals and you can barely call it a relationship either, so to me it made sense that she would transition into liking someone else, but just like she couldn't quite understand her feeling when she was falling in love for the first time, she also had a hard time understanding she was falling out of love
.
All the side characters are great and the extras are also super cute. I think it's worth the read, the art is beautiful and the dramatic moments are well paced.

This is so good. I was reserved because it’s teacher-student, however the way relationships and this particular situation is handled is very realistic imo. I don’t mind age gap but power gap usually bothers me however this one treads lightly and doesn’t feel creepy.

the characters dont immediately get together and there is discussion of it being wrong but it’s a lot of internal struggle and not just “I’m a teacher, your a student and we are in love tho so it’s ok” which is what made me really enjoy it

I found myself crying at the end but they were sad as well as happy tears. It’s a really good & realistic ending.
I’m adding this to my favorites list!

reading this again after two years, it's an entirely different experience! back then, i felt that things were rushed and that the ending wasn't satisfying at all, even if it was the outcome that i was hoping for (though honestly didn't expect lol). i was often frustrated by suzume and her thinking...but now, i see that the pacing and character-building is so strong and makes so much sense. i didn't understand it then, but this manga perfectly captures what it means to love in your youth

I don't get this MC, she keeps changing from being confident and smug to being the stereotypical frail and confused shoujo heroine

Omg i can’t believe i cried.....it’s been ages since i cried over a manga (and anime, or movies).
I don’t really know why but this hurts me....hurts me too much.
i really really wanted suzume to end up with sensei.....they both loved each other and that’s undeniable. I got frustrated how she easily overcame(ok not easily but we all know sensei had more trouble to overcome) the feelings for sensei. Yeah it’s true, their love wasn’t enough for them to just wait for each other. It wasn’t enough for them to keep together. But still....this hurts me so much. I really, really wished for them to be together. Sensei was just another human, not a bad nor a jerk....just a human who didn’t know how to deal with such a complicated situation....
it’s not like i am unsatisfied with the ending, it was indeed a good one, but ya know, i feel this frustration inside me.....even i don’t know why i am feeling like this...ugh...this messed up with my heart.
