So it's the matter of influence after all. Because if he was only after blood there could have been definitely more full-blooded Macedonian nobles than just Eurydice.
Overall i understand Phillip's role as a king so influence really is important, yet i find some reasons a bit weird.

Is it because of the same reasons why Antipater chose Eumenes to go to Athens? Yet if he became left hand it wouldn't be that important anymore, since Eumenes's role would be totally different commanding the left wing.
