I believe he was only treated well because of his father. When he died, Hecataeus took over and he became more of an issue because of his scythian origins and him being accused of indirectly contributing to his father's death. It's not enough to justify such a treatment, but that's what Hecataeus wanted and no one dared to defend him. They just quietly went along and did nothing.ok that went from 0 to 100 way to quick. the dad dies and instantly everything falls apart? why? whether he's his son or not he was loved by his family, the mother treated him as a son and showed genuine love for him yet POOF she just treats him like a slave? he's easily the most well educated person in the house yet he's turned into a slave and no one goes to investigate this suspicious murder and the massive power that has now fallen into the hands of the guy who found the "murderer"?
