I still don't get this guy's mentality.
Considering how different it is from the source material, I'm smelling the effects of editorial influence.
well, in the webnovel he usually does things that make him look insane but are actually his way of showing kindness, and you just dont think about it until some other character reflects on the act later down the road (some classmate or even himself)
for example, in the webnovel he has this "routine" where he wakes up every morning, goes and checks on the guild request board, and says "theres nothing fun to do here, what a boring guild". after that he checks on the shop he rebuilt, gets all the revenue fromt he invested in there, and instantly goes and wastes it all investing in other bussiness, claiming he will eventually own the entire town. then one of his classmates (i think class president san) reflects on his daily routine and how, despite not being obvious, hes looking out for the town (so checks out if something noteworthy shows up at the guild to make sure the town is safe) and goes to the bussiness to make the entire city is prosperous.
and mind you, i havent gotten this far on my reading of the novel (i stopped reading around the "hiring the assasing from the church with a sick sister" part, mostly because i started reading something else) BUT i assume his actual motivation was to make a summer festival, and masked it to his classmates as "forced labour after using the waterpark for free"
