Not much novel was translated, but it covered more detail regarding the skills still available to him. Not much really a spoiler, but I'll use the tag anyhow.

One of them was "slower leveling". He took that to be a handicap and he still thinks so.

That's a detail the manga really should not have skipped over. But the common theme is all the skills - even if they look like junk or they look like demerits - they're all useful. And if you recall, God forced them all on him which I think made him OP among the cheats. The geeks after all (the strongest group among the cheats), where having trouble with a semi-large group of goblins yet the MC didn't. Or fighting other monsters they warned him of, he easily handled them - even with the physical attacks they said wouldn't work (with the geeks fighting as a team). And the girls watching could barely follow his movements let alone hope to imitate him.

Just because he's leveling slower doesn't mean he's getting stronger at a slower rate. The opposite seems to be true. That first level up alone

basically doubled his starting stats because he gained quite a lot in terms of stats from it.

It is likely the case that other people gain far less from a level up compared to him. And I'm not sure, but those mushrooms could be adding to the level up boosts. Either way it isn't the level that makes you strong, but the stats themselves. I can't wait til he (and others?) finally figure that out. I'm speculating that benefit really helps in the higher levels, assuming the experience you get from killing depends upon your level and the level of the opponent. That would be an even better long-term advantage.

This is nothing more than a comedy style reflection on how the actual society works. Don't think too hard on it, our MC will survive and crap out it later on.

That system works broadly but it has flaws. because we know there are skills and jobs that slow growth what if someone was born with those skills and they had no choice but to become an adventurer it puts them in more danger because of the fact that for their starting levels where they are weakest they would have to hunt without the guilds support unless they have a group beforehand.

How is this guy not same level as them, sure they were ahead of him earlier, but he has killed tons of orcs, goblins, and koblods in the forest, and then he literally shot himself and one-shot every single wolf, id expect him to be like level 30 or 40 by now, but he isnt even lvl 10????? that way of taking the story is just wayyyyy to forced, like he got lvl 6 or something from killing like 5-10 goblins and kobolds, but when he kills like 100 monsters his level goes up by like 1?
