I made the incorrect assumption that the first girl was a cat (bakeneko) and that the third was an anubis, so I actually did get caught off guard by the Cerberus reveal

Same for me. Dia came off as a cat rather than a dog which threw me off.

Also after rereading I'm pretty certain that the twist with Pneuma is that both Hades and Persephone see Cerberus as the family dog, but Pneuma thinks of herself as Hades' lover and got upset when Hades and Persephone told her they were going on a romantic vacation. This will lead to gags about a dog feeling NTRed because her master is spending time with his wife and Asuka being attracted to Pneuma because he would be stealing a guy's dog.

I don't think that's a hot take tbh, I think a lot of people assume that. Near the start of the manga we even see Tenma complimenting the MC's NTR book, so I think it's pretty likely. Personally, I feel like the way the joke's gonna play out is to have the MC cuck Tenma, but since Tenma's into that, the MC will feel like he's the one who got defeated anyway (comment from way back):

Potentially, I'm imagining an ending with (since this is a comedy series) the guy getting de-stoned, MC admitting he had impure thoughts for his wife, the guy encouraging him, and then the MC getting excited about it but then realizing he's immediately turned off from the whole idea now because his NTR-brain needs the "stealing someone's wife" aspect, and it doesn't count enough if the guy's cool with it.

Just that with this chapter, I wonder if that NTR of Tenma will end up being like, all aspects of his life (business/etc) instead of just his wife, lmao.
