It seems like it's less "female lead's lesbian friend" so much as "self-appointed guardian", which is also a really common trope and can also be annoying but features much less fear-of-rejection-induced psychosis and sexual assault.

She also already seems okay with things.

So many were insisting she was a lesbian after previous chapter.

I saw it as her wanting to show off and 1 up the ML
