Generally, snipping is wrong, but the other group were the one doing the oneshot and probably were doing this one before this scan ever came out. It could easily be a case of miscommunication so just like, talk it out like adults. Figure something out, either work together or one of you drop it, 2 groups working parallel ontop of competing for speed is just hindering both groups and helping no one.
It was never my intention to snipe.

I've been working on my translation of this series since around late October, as the artist shares early drafts to their Fanbox (I do make sure to check the Japanese text between the drafts and released chapters though since some text does change). I was hoping to get Chapter 1 out day one, but the amount of redraws required was too much, which is why it took me until a few days after Tukii released their scanlation, and why I needed 3 artists to help me. Unfortunately, all of those artists have been busy recently, which is why I did the redraws for 3 and 4 entirely myself and Chapter 2 is still a bit in limbo.

Most of my scanlation experience has been for 18+ doujins, so I'm having tons of fun working on a more grounded series like this (even with all its fanservice haha). I've always wanted to branch into doing this eventually, and I'm really glad I get to with Hochiya. It's hard to find series that interest me to scanlate into English since bigger groups often pick them up immediately and release something while I'm halfway into the text translating process.

Eclair scans is mostly just me, minus help redrawing when artists are available and proofreading from a friend who's fluent in both English and Japanese. I think I spent around 4-5 hours daily on the series for the first week it was out. I've been trying to find/recruit people to help on the redrawing and SFX side for some time now, but it's never really amounted to much.

I'm currently in the middle of typesetting my own version of this chapter as well, which I had translated around a week ago. I'm on a Christmas trip with my family though, so it's been a bit difficult to find free time. I'll do my best not to beat myself up about quick releases though, since the main goal with my releases is translating everything, including SFX, signs, puns, etc. to preserve Misekiss's intent.

I don’t have any problem collaborating, if you want we can talk about, I prefer that we do just one version

I appreciate the offer.

Unfortunately, I would prefer to continue with my own scanlation. I believe our typesetting and translation styles differ too much, and I disagree with your group’s monetization policies.

I also think it would give my group more room to grow, as we are new to scanlation and haven’t had an opportunity to scanlate a series ourselves before.

Most of the time readers don't and shouldn't care about 'sniping'. Maybe one person prefers speed above all even if mtl, maybe another prefers to wait for higher quality translations or even uncensored versions, maybe theres a third one that just prefer the translation choices of a certain group or just wants to keep reading a specific one for consistency's sake. As long as the translation is good or has something to offer people will just read what suits their taste.

Also someone shouldn't be prohibited from working on a series because another group called dibs first, thats something thats often abused, specially by groups that just pick a fuckton of things, soft-drop them and start working on them again the moment anyone else shows interest in order to 'keep' the series.

Disclaimer: I'm not talking about this group or any group in particular, its just my general perception of the scanlating world.

If you haven't noticed, this is a feeder fetish manga and this guy's going to continue to try to get her to eat his lunch. What happened here was no coincidence.

I was right.
You're a bunch of losers for how you reacted last chapter.
Go apologize to whoever raised you.
Scum.
