Nah, @trapsarebetter, I gotta agree with @Sapphiredemon on this one. Misreading a situation like that can ruin a relationship, and if you're gonna make a move, it's best to be damn sure they're gonna be receptive to it.

@Tamerlane Right, so nothing ever gets moving because since both have to be sure the other is receptive, but neither can indicate their receptiveness ere the other have done so, what we end up with is a deadlock.

No, there's definitely ways to tell if someone is receptive to sex specifically. Hell, these two aren't already in a relationship and Fyuki is known for being a bit ditzy, so she may not get the implications of what she's doing. It all relies on context and what the situation is, specifically.

Here, he was just invited to take a shower at someone else's house because they were working in the yard. Sure, she was teasing him, but they're not in a relationship and he's not sure she actually likes him as more than a friend.

There are ways you can tell if someone is receptive, and there are varying degrees of actions that you should take. For instance, if you want to have sex with someone, you don't just grab their privates and ask them unless you've already gotten to a point where you two are so intimately close that it's established by both parties that behavior like that is acceptable. (Ie, your wife and you are home alone and she smacks your butt.)

Yes, indeed, like how Huyuki is acting, but yours is apparently the belief that one can not rely on that.

And yours was the claim that one can't propose a relationship or make any advances till one is "damned sure", advice that Huyuki is by the way not following.

Ah, so Tubasa is to be admired as he "respects"the man that in no way "respects" him back? Huyuki is not in the slightest doing what you suggest one best do.

He is in no way "respecting" Huyuki; he is simply uncomfortable with the sexual tension and runs out as a consequence.
