@yugioh20 it only is 1/2 chapters in, you cant really judge it that much with only half a chapter =P

for worldbuilding, its done a great job so far with both the limiters and enablers with what's possible and it hasn't even gotten to the good stuff yet.

@ThatHurt Aye, he is a hunter, so I just assumed he uses a rifled hunting-barrel on it, so that would be more to the 200 meter range, so I would say a 4x or even a 6x depending on his preference is a viable possibility, even if somewhat on the higher side then average for the situation ^^

Normally shotguns don't have rifling and are usually choked to reduce the spread of the shot. You can remove the choke on some shotguns but without the rifling, the slug would be inaccurate

@Lancet11 this is japan, a country with gun country so tightly, even the police just recently upgraded to Glock from 5 shot revolver. This is just as bad as that other series about gun otaku. Art is equally bad and story equally shit.

The story is so lazy they just couldn't bother giving a proper excuse for anything.

The goddess works on some small ass firearm store in America.

An M870 with a scope and fires buckshot? Granted you can still kill something up to 40 yards, but a scope is really unnecessary unless you are using slugs.

They have access to the entirety of the internet and all human knowledge but can't spend 5 minutes looking up how a gun works.

ITT: A bunch of people who only know guns from CoD and think buckshot only works at 30 yards and slugs at 100. For one, he's definitely using slugs, he even mentions exactly which in the 2nd chapter, Copper Sabot, even the pricing on them is pretty close to as mentioned in the chapter. There is a 0% chance that you use those types of rounds in a smooth-bore gun, as they would end up flipping around and hitting sideways and have a big spread even at 50y. So he's definitely using rifled. Those rounds, rifled, can easily hit 200y with 4 inch groups.

He uses shot vs. the wolves, which given the range he's fighting them at is fine, even if you do get a really gross spread shooting shot out of a rifled shotgun (the idea shooting shot out of rifled does any more damage than shooting slugs is a myth).

BTW, 00 buckshot can penetrate ballistic gel 9 inches deep at 100 yards. It'll be all over the place, but it's far from useless.

Also, overall 3-9x and 4-12x are the two most common choices for variable magnification scopes intended for 200-yard ranges. The one he's using looks more like a 4-12x.

In short, the author of this knows 10x more about guns than everyone trying to go hard on him trying to show off their PUBG/CoD knowledge.
