@1059212 Who knows? Maybe because Ritz is the embodiment of foreign rule, whereas Sieg is a cute, hard-working girl?

Miruporon is pretty nice to look at, now that she's in lesser garbs(I always thought she was rather attractive, even with thick clothing). I'm not sure why Ritz had to go wayyyy out of the way for a wife when she seems like lovely wife material.

I mostly read the novel (and thus this manga) for the main couple, but seeing again this depiction of the sami as cold, resentful and individualistic is really bothersome. Ask a japanese to go to Hokkaido or Ryukyu, see if the ainu or ryukyuans are rude and distrustful of all japanese people in spite of everything that has been done to them; usually, being persecuted to this extent generates stronger social bonds within the group, this would obviously include anyone participating in their beliefs and customs despite having a foreign parent. I know not everything needs to be realistic in fiction, but it's harmful nonetheless, especially coming from a japanese author.
