The feeling that he's going to turn out to not be Ryouma's brother is growing.

If Reo's mom only ever said "an important man to meet", it feels much more like he was just a really supportive friend?

The way the dad is characterized, it feels impossible that he'd visit Reo and lie to the rest of his family about him.

even if it turns out Reo isnt their blood relative, they all already family by this point

I still think that they're brothers and it's specifically important that his father is presented in such a way. I mean a lot of this story is that good people are flawed and consistently conflicted. His father makes a note of that in his small view of the ocean speech.

I could be wrong though, I might be misremembering but his mum implied that he never visited after his birth so she might not be reliable in the context of things.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, the story is well written enough, that I trust it'll make sense eventually.
