I was already rooting for the dragon to be more than that, but now I really just feel bad for it. They even gave him a flashback there, and I was hoping they could go with the path of making it discover stuff from MC's world, and the dragon showing things from here in return, idk something like that. Even more so after he was still barely alive, that was a perfect setup for something more.
