A problem with the theory that the monster is held to the surface primarily by van der Waals force is that the strength of the force grows as the square of the linear dimensions of the monster, whereas the force of gravity is increasing as a cube. The force is used in the real world by creatures the size of geckos, but not significantly by larger animals because it just isn't strong enough.

I like that it fell because it couldnt jump as much as normal due to the oil, rather than it just falling due to the oil, but overall it was still pretty easy and un-exciting.

Just realized that this series is basically isekai MacGyver. The layout of this dungeon feels weirdly disappointing for a supposedly massive and unconquerable dungeon. These endgame rooms feel so simple and man made. Compare it to the living ecosystem of the dungeon in Delicious in Dungeon and it just feels like a missed opportunity.
They were created, yes. Entirely artificial. The dragon's internal thoughts a few chapters back had it simply coming into being and implanted with simple commands. There's no ecosystem in this dungeon.

Why don't they just using that oil balloons instead using the whole shebang? Imo that just overkill for oil bathing the lizard.
Because they didn't know if the balloons of oil would trigger it attacking them or not and they needed to make it unable to climb/jump up at them first, or else they were dead. They were extra and a provocation to get it to attack after the wall was drenched to prepare.

I'm not super sure why they felt they had to be so stealthy because I assumed the gecko was acting as an ambush predator and never meant to be noticed in the first place.

A little disappointing the monster gecko turned out to be the boss of the entire floor; I would've liked to see them have to solve dealing with a whole bunch of them lying in wait.
Age old saying better to be safe than sorry

It's a miracle the lizard doesn't attack when they take their long sweet time to set their Home Alone contraption. It would be better just looking for water jet pump and hydro pump the lizard with oil.

That would definitely trigger it attacking them, before the oil had been able to do its thing and keep it from getting/keeping a good grip. An ambush predator isn't going to go unless it's provoked or it's pretty sure of a good attack. Especially one that doesn't actually need to eat, like these dungeon monsters don't. All the noise of a compressor for the jet could have provoked it - at the very least it would definitely alert it to their presence and location.

Up until now, there is zero to none yuri,
Where is the yuriiiiiii???
And, isn't it kinda op to have a store with everything in it in a dungeon?
It's a little too convenient.

What are you talking about!?
They were clearly admiring each other's legs and engaging in acts of hand-holding - with and without protection.

Then set it up in a very far place, out the monster reach, and shoot from there.

It's in a crevice in the ground. The only way they'd get an angle is if it was out if the hole attacking them, at which point its too late and they'd just be fighting it normally anyway, and getting killed. This whole plan was to drop it into the hole so they wouldn't immediately die because they're still SUPER WEAK compared to everything else.

Thanks for the chapter!

This room's challenge might have seemed easy, but that's because our protagonists were challenging the room from the wrong side. That the other door opend uppon completion indicates that you would be locked in the room if you entered it normally. But because our protagonist duo came from the other side they were not locked in the room. They also had access to technology that eliminated the darkness making them able to see the gecko, who's starting position would normally not be visible even with light from the entrance, because it's hanging on a wall facing the exit.

Also I have a theory that everyone who in some way ends up in the last room gets one wish, based on which the room is changed into a new challenge, a new boss room. Then the dungeon slowly grows a new last room. That would explain why only the protagonist can open the door at the lowest floor from inside, she is the boss of that room.
