Can anyone give me TL: DR?
Yeah, they really dumped all that down fast. I guess TL;DR is Nonland and the King fucked around and found out. In more detail...

First, Nonland is a name. That messed me up for a few chapters.

The original setup people believed:
  • Nonland and Wife bore Jink (protagonist).
  • Nonland and not-wife bore Esther (protagonist's half-brother).
Apparently this is normal and accepted. Jink was determined to be worthless by Nonland, and exiled. Making Esther the one who would inherit the noble title.

The actual setup:
  • King Rosalta and Nonland Wife bore Jink (protagonist).
  • Nonland and not-wife still bore Esther (making Jink and Esther unrelated by blood).
So the reason Jink was exiled: To hide the king's behavior, and to get rid of the heir of Nonland who wasn't actually the heir. They hoped he would die out in the wild, and their problem would go away. The problem is he lived, and he also became an "enchanter." Which means he's rare and valuable.

Apparently the knowledge that Jink had royal blood, is an enchanter, and that the king abused his power to sleep with a noble's wife, somehow, somehow, actually had consequences.
  • Nonland was executed.
  • King Rosalta was stripped and thrown into prison.
  • Fat Prince is being protected by the nobles as long as he stays in the castle.
Still, it's wild and confusing how everyone is acting. But I guess it's for the plot.

Okay, let me clarify some points here.
What actually led Jink to be born:
  • King Rosalta, shotly after obtaining the crown, summoned the chancellor's daughter, and forced his way with her
  • She ended up getting pregnant with Jink, but as the incident could cause problems with King Rosalta's wife (A neighboring country's princess), he had to cover it up somehow
  • But even the King couldn't just get away with it easily, since he was dealing with the chancellor (One of the most influential figures in the country and also the one who helped King Rosalta obtain the crown) and his daughter
  • Because of that, she was sent to marry the current head of the Nonland family, Gordon Nonland
The former head of the Nonland family, Nobul Nonland, wasn't happy with this, and poisoned all the food and drinks in one of the Chancellor's family parties, killing the everyone there, including Jink's mother. It's said that Jink'd normally be there as well, but that day he decided to stay at home and practice with his spear.
The one executed was the former head, Nobul Nonland, and the one thrown in prison was the current head, Gordon Nonland. King Rosalta and the prince were stripped of their royal positions, but nothing else happened to them so far, they're just locked in the palace for now.

I'm not sure about Jink actively trying to get exiled, though. From what I found, his behavior just got worse after being removed from the prince's escort, which ended up being an execuse for his exile.

Hope this clarifies what's going on. This story is way more confusing than it should be. Most of what I mentioned here is taken from the chapter 10, if anyone wants to read this chaos for themselves
