I hope I’m wrong, but this part reminds me of Grapara!, especially since both manga are written by a woman. It brings to mind that scenario where the fmc avoids the mc after seeing him kiss someone else—though things went further here—and runs straight into the arms of another man. On the other hand, perhaps we’re just being paranoid and it will turn out to be nothing more than drama that doesn't escalate; after all, this is the author's first work that isn't "shoujo" (but rather aimed at a male audience), and it would be a mistake to ruin her budding career with cheap NTR.
