vagueposting in DMs? Ria is now worst girl
Is it really vague? It's a clear SOS. Do we expect her to somehow send a whole paragraph?
As I thought, Haruka kind of “settled” for Suzuka, he clearly liked Ria first. It’s not that he doesn’t like or cherish Suzuka—he clearly does—but it doesn’t seem to hit the same way as what he feels for Ria. With Ria, there’s a stronger, more instinctive kind of pull that he can’t replicate with Suzuka.
And that’s what makes this whole situation feel rough, because it doesn’t look sustainable. Sex isn’t everything in a relationship, but it’s still an important part of intimacy, so the fact that he can’t get it up to Suzuka says a lot. Over time, that’s bound to affect her self-esteem, especially when she’s objectively attractive.
Like I said before, Suzuka is definitely not lacking in the “assets” department, which just makes it feel even more off. At that point, it’s less about her and more about how much of a hold Ria seems to have on him—mentally and physically.
As for Ria, I don’t think whatever happened between her and Haruka directly involves Suzuka. The way Suzuka talks about watching them in the past, there’s no real bitterness or resentment there, which would be strange if there had been a direct conflict over Haruka.
It feels more personal between Haruka and Ria. My guess is it ties back to how Ria was always sexualised for her “assets,” and Haruka once positioned himself as someone who wouldn’t see her that way.
But the line from chapter 6—“I decided I’d be the only one who wouldn’t look at her like that. But I…”—heavily implies he broke that promise. And if that’s the case, then the tension between them isn’t just about attraction, but also guilt and a sense of betrayal.
Thanks for the translation.
What I think happened is that:
1) Haruka was great friends with Ria and intended to stay that way while Suzuka could only watch the two getting closer and closer as friends
2) At the beach, hormones kicked in, and Haruka started to become attracted to Ria's body. Ria likely is aware of this (why she wore her swimsuit), and this may also be the point in which she stops seeing her body as a liability but as an asset.
3) Haruka is unsure how to deal with his lust and he started acting awkward around Ria. Ria had to move away and Suzuka saw the opportunity and confessed while Haruka was mentally weak.
honestly, i dont get ria
putting aside everything she is doing wrong to suzuka, what does a "save me" message to some dude gonna do?
Consider the context:
superior ask her to sleep with him to get pillow promotion. There is no coercion involved. Power abuse? yes, definitely, but she has a choice.
1. She reject. Does not get promotion
2. She accept. But Suzuka's bf "saves" her. She wouldn't get that promotion either way.
So might as well just reject.
Supposed she really really want that promotion. But doesnt want to sleep with the superior.(which is fair)
But due to the verbal nature, she needed some evidence like leading the guy to almost rape her and someone save the day... idk... it jusst seem maximum risk, for a meh payoff..
Better off stalling and secretly recording the convo somehow. (doubt it will be easy, but what to do)
Or something.
Just seem incredibly stupid ngl
This puts the choice into Haruka's hand.
If Haruka cares enough to save her, she will get the confirmation from Haruka that he cares about her.
If Haruka does not save her, then she gets the confirmation that Haruka doesn't care, and there would be no point for her to "save herself" for him.
This is one of those cases where I don't think anyone is particularly at fault. Haruka took her chance and is trying whatever she can to obtain what she wants. While we can argue "she should have encouraged Haruka to sort things out with Ria", reality is that we aren't that generous, and the relationship she has with Haruka is what she has chosen to defend.
Ria on the other hand, is still somewhat mysterious. Why is it that she agreed to become an idol in the first place? She may actually be more innocent than she appears.
I can see people putting the blame on Haruka and it is understandable. He has been trying, but his lust for Ria has only gotten worse since her departure. It is probably too early (Ria just came back) to have that conversation with Suzuka about Ria even though Suzuka already knows what is up.
The next few chapters will likely set the tone. Will Ria put in that "extra effort"? Atm, she obviously isn't willing (but somehow is reluctant to say so to her manager), which is why she sent the SOS, but we still know nothing as to why she agreed to be a glamour model in the first place, and there will obviously be other men lusting after her.
If Ria end up getting Weinstein'ed, Ria would have been the indirect cause becuase Haruka is held back. This will no doubt place a lot of guilt onto Haruka if he finds out the truth down the road.
I am still on the Ria side of things. The relationship with Suzuka just does not seem to be working out. 2 chapters ago I wrote how I found it odd that the couple is still not comfortable telling each other about their hobbies, and these 2 chapters just made it worse since they have been hanging out since childhood (how do you not know the childhood friend you have been dating for at least a year likes horror movies???). At the very least, there are a lot of problems that need solving; maybe after Haruka and Ria have developed some physical relationship, he will be able to do some thinking with post-nut clarity.
