It's more like 'Myne and Ferdinand both independently escape political marriages worse than death through each other'. Both were forced by Royal decree into partnerships with the most overinflated teenage egos on the god's flat earth; both end up pushed into rampaging across three duchies plus the sovereignty in response, and by the end of things the only reasonable play is to protect each other's interests by getting proactively hitched and oathbinding the nation's new leaders to let them stay as hands-off shadow government so they can operate independently from there on, jangling keys to the nukes should folks get too upity again. It's actually pretty much the exact same plot you see Aub Dunk doing here - he's trying to get Hannelore tied off so that the now Ex-Royals can't snatch her up instead, just standard noble playbook.Myne marries Ferdinand? What a fucking let down.....![]()
Everything that went on in the process DID leave Ferd openly emotionally captured and Myne secretly crazy for him too though, even though she's internally not aware of just how bad she's got it
