Sigswald is such an egotistical idiot. If he was actually following proper noble etiquette he should marry a second wife from within the duchy to manage the internal affairs and increase the archducal family's mana. Him expecting other duchies to CHOOSE to form political ties with him, through marriage, when he can provide nothing is ridiculous, especially when they'll likely heavily descend the rankings in the near future. At most he should try to marry an archduke candidate from a middle duchy who he could pressure, not Dunkelfelger.

his complaining is doubly idiotic when he was the one supporting all policies that forced ehrenfest into a position of having 2 adult suppliers as well.
not all 2nd wives are local we don't have many examples but we do know that said "tradition" is a tradition in dunkelfalger because of their unique culture. we know that the 2nd wife of Aub Ahrensbach was from Wreckestock with the first one being from Drawenchal. there was also the 2nd wife of Adelbert who was local to Ehrenfest. you also have to consider that this would have been even less likely before the purge when the noble population was much higher and there was more competition between ADCs from all duchies.
