TY for the update! :win:

I did find a mistake though... (pg 36)

"You should not to use the excuse that it is for my sake or that it is a duty as a retainer."
Removing "to" from the sentence fixes it.

Or there is also the choice of adding another word in front of it...

"You should not _____ to use the excuse that it is for my sake or that it is a duty as a retainer."
  1. try
  2. deem
  3. think
  4. attempt
  5. pretend

  6. ... and probably some other options I'm too lazy to continue thinking of.

Man that old lady is shrewd as hell: trying everything possible to get her very dumb grandson taught a lesson to help him.
But rosemyne is brutal, vicious, and apathetic...and likely saw through granny's visibly desperate attempts to help him.

Nobel's standard punishment = appears harsh but is short term vs Rosemyne's punishment = appears soft but is eternal suffering and it will be too late by the time you notice. Traugott... Rest is piss, you won't be missed.

Anyone can see Harmutt is a manipulative brown-nose. What's more shocking is how ignorant Traugott is. He openly talked about conning his own master, and thinks he'll have the credibility to become the future knight commander after that. He's worse than Wilfried was.
it simply shown how childish and sheltered Traugott is. people probably showered and babied him since he is an archnoble and the offspring of the current Knight Commander as well one of close relative(i think he is ferdinand and slyvester nephew) to the current archduke of Ehrenfest.

hopefully this become a wake up call that make him properly adjusted for the high noble society within Ehrenfest and across the kingdom/empire.

i think she is disappointed as well concern for her grandson. i think Rihyarda wanted Traugott to be stripped of his archnoble status temporarily and as long as he is within myne or ferdinand's care (the temple), she could perhaps persuade/petition to myne (or slyvester) to restore his status once traugott has been fully re-educated.

she just miscalculated that myne is as cutthroat as ferdinand 😅😅

Love this chapter and the way this idiot absolutely screwed himself over without realizing it. Oh and his dream was also stupid from the start. Am archduke candidate can’t guard the archduke cause he might kill them to steal the position, so when bonifatius was knight commander, someone else guarded the archduke, letting the giant just focus on hunting feybeast

also for those wondering about Traugott’s future
he basically learned nothing from this and tried to go back to working under Myne once he realized how isolated he was, thinking that would solve everything and that she hadn’t harshly punished him because she was soft. It’s only after he gets choked out by a drag queen dressed as his mother that he realizes how badly he messed up. That being said, He improves a little bit by the end of the story and improves enough where he might get a decent ending if he keeps his head down

Oh and regarding what he said about Damuel
I may need to double check this one but I strongly recall one of the fanbooks saying that Damuel actually had a decent chance of beating Cornelius in a fight if he got a bit lucky
I'm pretty sure that's Fanbook 8, which is in pre-pub currently

Ferdinand talks about this in Part 2, when talking with Damuel regarding the incident with the trombe. In a moment without Myne, Damuel is in despair over going into debt to pay his fine, his betrothed breaking off the marriage, and being demoted to apprentice knight. Ferdinand takes the opportunity to lecture him on his own failings, namely that he underestimated Myne when he was assigned to protect her during the trombe subjugation, and correctly assessed that had Myne been an archnoble daughter, he would have fought to the death to protect her. Instead, Damuel deferred to Shikza's higher status and waited until Myne was actually harmed before calling a Rott to summon help. A guard knight's natural position is beneath their charge, and to Damuel's credit, he recognizes this immediately, whereas Traugott remains ignorant of it entirely.

Actually, Rihyarda was recommending something just short of execution. She recommends having his schtappe sealed and being sent to the temple for the rest of his life. Sealing a schtappe is done by performing the God of Darkness' execution spell while in a different duchy than the target. While they don't die, they are removed from existence as far as the gods are concerned and are even denied an afterlife, if the spell's wording is taken literally. They are merely intelligent feybeasts at that point.

“O mighty and supreme God of Darkness, who rules the endless skies; O mighty Father who created the world and all things. In the name of <name of God of Darknesss>, may those who transgressed against the Goddess of Light be punished.”
“I beseech you, close the towering stairway to the distant heights.”

Within the context of the Rihyarda recommending it, as a noble who is not an archduke candidate, she cannot and does not know this, it is just a punishment for nobles who have committed transgressions. Being cut down would actually be more merciful.

For the second spoiler:
You are correct. When asked which of Myne's retainers would come out on top in a fight, she listed Cornelius as the most likely candidate because he has no weaknesses to exploit. The only one who might beat him is Daniel, who could make use of his fantastic mana rationing to buy time looking for an opening made by Cornelius letting his guard down (which is entirely possible, given it's an archnoble vs. a laynoble and nobody would expect him to stand a chance). I imagine he'd only be able to win once, though.

On another note, I appreciate the way Myne's eyes change a slightly on page 36 while she's scolding Hartmut, something that happens to people with mana when they feel strong emotions. The story has shown that she actually has a tendency to slightly (and sometimes not so slightly) Crush people with her mana entirely on accident when she's pissed, so it's nice to see one of the moments it happens, or almost happens, but nobody tells her about it.
