Hello dearest friends. I am 2 days late in my upload, despite finishing a day early.

If ever you need to discern justifications for my many shortcomings, just remember: I am stupid.

"Oh Bike is late? Don't worry they're not quitting, they're just a lil stupid. if someone posts a reminder they'll remember." and so on and so forth

pls 5giv me

"Nearly climbed the towering stairway" suggests the worst had passed
But it's actually just the beginning
Since she is holding the crystal, nobody can touch her. That means she will be bedridden and alone for a while

That's some beautifully rendered art right there. And the highbeast moment actually made me laugh from the cuteness :glee:

'tis a lonely road to walk to the top

Absolutely love how the artist designed the pathway and tree. It’s such a great visualization of such an important location in this series

and yeah, for those a Bit confused, the divine will must be filled entirely with your own mana and if anybody touches you or gets their mana on you during the process, your schtappe will be permanently ruined and far less efficient than your peers, which is a big deal because you can can only do this once! It’s so important that they clear the halls so there’s 0 chance of anybody bumping into a first year

also, the reason they’re getting the king decided they’d get their schtappes early is Because of a lack of manpower following the civil war. Basically, so many nobles died, that they had to employ child labor and put the kids to work asap
though it had the unfortunate side effect of actually making the students way weaker since their Schtappe s werent attuned to their first year mana levels rather than their later ones.

I like how the ending notes that she "nearly climbed" the Divine staircase in the end, but in reality she did climb it. I'm assuming that because the teachers found her passed out and close by the staircase they had that misunderstanding and spread that rumor instead and Myne never clarified it.

Climbing the towering staircase is a metaphor used in this series as 'The person has died and has ascended to Heaven', hence the joke here is that in one of the holiest places in the country, while trying to climb a normal staircase made her almost get on the permenant one. Its less of a rumor, and more of a fact at this point as what happened, plus especially the archduke canidates from the other duchies witnessed of how much she struggled to get to that point anyways, the teachers would only be sharing the conclusion at that point. Plus she's not in any condition to explain anything at that point.

Different staircases. Rozemyne didn't climb the towering stairway.

Not really a problem, but on the 1st page the chapter is numbered as chapter 13.

The chapter is the correct one, so many thanks for the translation.

So from what I understand, from this comment and the other one is that Myne just imagined herself climbing and descending the Spiral/Towering staircase from fatigue and the imagery was all supposed to be metaphorical and she didn't actually reach the end of the path but passed out on a normal staircase far down the path instead.

No, there was a real staircase. The place she reached, with the big plaza and the ivory tree, is real, not a metaphor.

But the "towering stairway" is something else, it is literally ascending to the gods after your death, that one is a metaphor (or maybe it exists for real? But since the story is written from the POV of the MC, and she hasn't died yet, the "towering starway to the distant heights" was so far never shown, only mentioned in religious lore).

No, "climbing the towering staircase" (not divine) is a metaphor for dying: something akin to going to heaven, thus, going way up, thus, climbing a towering staircase. What she climbed was just a big staircase (after climbing a lot of smaller ones) to get to her stone and fainted on the way back. They probably don't even know yet that she reached that big staircase in the end. As far as they know, she could have just gotten her stone from where they found her and fainted because of the mana depletion.

i genuinely didn't think the saircase would look like that but a bit more barebones (like a stone staircase like in ancient european towers XD also man is there so much to do with this chapter that's hidden behind spoilers XD) also 1 question that always bothered me with this is since we know that the teachers can enter what exactly would happen if a person couldn't find their devine will in the chamber? personally i have a few theories but those contain massive spoilers

She went till the end, I wonder 🤔 how many others had to go there for the will?

In recent years? Very few. Including Rosemyne, would say it could be counted on 1 hand and still have fingers to spare. In the distant past a lot, maybe like 3-4 generations ago.
In the next generations. As a result or Rosemyne running wild. Probably a lot.

Make sure to take the left path on your way back
... okay, so, my left when facing the entrance coming back, or my left on the way in?? This is why I still can't tell left from right.

Epic prank idea, sneak in a shining replica stone, so when the next year comes around, someone gets excited bringing back a regular stone instead of divine will. :pacman:

Asocial technique: mime holding onto divine will everywhere, others will be reluctant to approach you, because what if you're really holding onto one? They can't see it to confirm. :haa:
