1) I never thought the time will come Myne talks like she's an evil mastermind, "Spread this news! Initiate the next phase!". And how she won't be able to rub off Ferdinand's influence on her.

2) It's her Dad. OMG it's HER DAD! And they talk about nostalgia! OMG STOP WRENCHING MY HEART!

As the master position Rozemyne has the final decision in things, the aides/guards at most are in advisory position.

Of course her refusing to follow their advices too much would be seen as their relation being sour and cause them to go separate ways, but generally as long as the master can provide 'good enough' reasonings the aides will obey.
Well yes except for two things.

1. Brigitte could tell Ferdinand who absolutely has the power to punish Myne or fire Brigitte if she’s helping Myne keep secrets

2. Myne really needs to keep her commoner origin secret so she can’t come off as un noble to Brigitte

1. If anything Ferdinand would evaluate Brigitte HIGHER to know she's unfazed by Myne's antics + help her hide it from the more criticizing type. Besides, Rozemyne herself also have the power to dismiss Brigitte if she want to.

2. They ALREADY have the cover story that she's raised in the temple so her common sense is different, her being 'un-noble' wouldn't hint at her being formerly a commoner.

i originally TL'd it as red panda, but the LN specifies lesser panda and the manga has her calling it Lessy-kun (so cute <3)
Lesser panda is better for consistency with her calling it Lessy, but maybe a TL note in the margin could be added for people who don't know what those are? (but that might be more for the earlier chapter when she first call it Lessy)

More important, there's an inconsistency in page 11, where it says "the Temple Head gives a reading", the "Temple Head" should be "High Bishop", as translated in the rest of the chapter.
If you want to keep the names as in the LN, Rozemyne's guard knight should be Brigitte, not Brigette (page 19) (you also translated it to Brigitte before (chap 34), so I assume it's just a typo?)

yes! both are typos, i have a system of translating on my own + g-lens and then going over it again with the relevant LN section, i must have missed these. they're fixed now!

thank you for the heads up!

Myne s un-noble antics arent a good think in Ferdinand s mind. They’re something he’s trying his damndest to crush because they either risk damaging her cover story or getting her mocked by other nobles. As things stand, other nobles basically see Myne as being raised in the equivalent of a brothel

Have you forgotten the Saintess part of her cover story pretty much work off these 'un-noble' antics of hers?

Case in point, this whole Hasse thing on the surface is her going against nobles (even Sylvester, THE Aub) to save commoners, a very 'un-noble' act.

Hell by all accounts he's the most accommodating of her wishes compare to others.

There’s a big difference between wanting to save commoners and actually eating with them or showing them affection. Myne has to stay cold/expressionless every time she talks to Luz and the merchants because she can’t show too much familiarity with commoner trash.

No? There's a BIG difference between what noble etiquette actually requires, what Ferdinand is willing to let her do and whatever hellscape you're imagining.
If eating with commoners is such a big no no how would you explain the Italian restaurant? That had both Sylvester AND Ferdinand eating along side the merchants.

She's giving rewards to commoners and evne grey priests.

Even touching one.
I don't see Ferdinand stopping/scolding her there.

If you wanna argue back, try posting some actual evidence supporting what you said instead of going 'me right' with your headcanon.

It’s not headcannon. It’s said very explicitly and repeatedly in the LN

Again, do explain how were Sylvester and Ferdinand ok with eating at Italian restaurant if this part you mention is such a big deal as you made it out to be.
actually eating with them

So either you're just making these comments off headcanon or you're remembering things wrong like that comment you made about Damuel's brother 'adopting' Freida in the anthology chapter.

My impression was a bit different, though I'm not sure where to look for another example other than here:
https://mangadex.org/chapter/6177b9cc-0259-4501-9c7f-c6dd458872fc/14

What'd happen if your origin becomes public there...do you understand?
...Yes.
It's hard to protect everyone [...]

The reasoning I'd gathered for treating her family and Lutz without affection was because they were commoners--in the sense of being "socially weak". They wouldn't have the authority to refuse the requests of a noble, which would leave them vulnerable to being harmed, having their livelihood threatened, or being held hostage, as a vector of attack against Myne.

There is indeed a need for Myne to maintain noble etiquette to build up her image. Showing indifference to commoners is more for their protection than for protecting Myne's reputation.

I did say adopting or marrying

and Sylvester is famously wild and unpredictable. He hunted with commoners and snuck out to explore the lower city constantly. His reputation is already pretty much trash.

Well, he's doing neither so you're wrong either way (he'll take her in as mistress but that's not marrying her in the noble sense)

Sylvester reputation is trash
God your take get even dumber with each replies.
Reminder that this is what Ferdinand said to Sylvester earlier:
https://mangadex.org/chapter/72a0eae9-817a-47b5-a421-fa89a221f240/12
The same Ferdinand who in that same chapter want Wilfried disinherited.
And also the same Ferdinand who setup Myne's dad to be the escort for the greys.

And even if I take that at face value, what about Ferdinand? Eating with 'commoner trash' is supposedly a big, unbendable no 'canonically' for you right? So what about him? I mentioned them both in my post so are you ignoring him because you don't want to admit you were wrong or are you just that bad at reading?

To be fair, Ferdinand mentioned to Benno that the Archduke going to eat with commoners was absolutely unprecedented (and Ferdinand was at first clearly pissed that the meeting was taking place there, he wanted Sylvester to just summon the merchant, as is proper), so it is definitely not on the "normal" side of things for nobles, at least if you follow high ranking etiquette.
When you go in the sticks, like in Illgner, then the nobles get closer to the commoners, as Brigitte said, but that's a big no-no in the capital city.

Ferdinand and Kartstedt only came because they needed to, Karstedt because he's Sylvester bodyguard, and Ferdinand because he needed to be there to stop Sylvester from going even more on a rampage. After seeing the place, and how it is mostly styled like a mednoble house, with attendants serving them like nobles, that likely helped change their minds on the status of the Italian Restaurant.

As for Freida, you're partly correct but partly wrong. Yes, Damuel's brother will only take her as a mistress, but that's because it was Freida's choice. She was first offered to become a true wife, and she refused that deal in order to stay with her family until her coming of age. Freida explains that to Myne in P1V3 I think? (not sure it is mentioned in the manga, so spoiler from the LN Part 1 just in case)

Which goes back to my first post that as long as the master (or any noble really) can offer 'good enough' reasonings, it's fine. But the other guy then decide to act like nobles must absolutely not bend the rules and cite Ferdinand as the ultimate stickler...even after how many rules Ferdinand have bent for Myne's sake...

Also I'm pretty sure Ferdi AND Kardstedt were actually tempted by the food and anything else they said were just 'excuses', remember back when Myne proposed to lend out the restaurant chef to raise funds earlier?

As for Freida
Gonna toss out this google translate of relevant bit because it's got it right at least:
"There was talk of me becoming the second or third wife, but if I were to become an official wife, there would be troublesome issues with inheritance rights and the order of priority between wives. In particular, my grandfather said that there was a high possibility of unnecessary friction arising, since our family has more money than the lower noble families."

So it's not for her to stay with family per se, it's to avoid annoying issues....money-related issues.
Also it's not Freida's choice either, it's the guild master who did the negotiation.

Still, the point is that the contract is neither for adoption nor marriage.
