Sawada originally appeared just randomly annoying, but now I wish they could just adopt her into the Hori household as a junior kid.
To be honest, that's pretty much how most of the additional characters after the initial four or five were. Like the Student Council trio? Originally despised because they seemed like they were trying to publicly shame Hori for a mistake they didn't realize one of their own members made. Now they're an accepted part of the friend group.
It's like the characters are introduced in an exaggerated, extreme fashion, then normalized and naturalized into the cast through subsequent appearances.
The main problem with Honoka Sawada is that she's a second year, so far less likely to be seen in or near the same classes as the rest of the cast, who are all third years.
Kind of a shame she doesn't have her own friend circle in the school- one of the prior manga I read introduced a little sister for one of the main trio of the cast when they advanced to the second year of school, and she came in with at least one best friend in her class and is in the same class as a supporting character for another of the main cast's group who is initially resistant to making friends due to her underworld hitman upbringing (same as the one she's connected to from the main cast).
Anyway, I remembered her being sympathetic from the anime after her absurd introduction, so I didn't really mind her that much here- figured she'd prove to be sympathetic once again. I really do like the image of her as being an adopted little sister for Izumi, for sure, and this was nice to see. I know I saw the scene with the scarf before, at least.
