hori's family is uh...interesting
Exactly. From my perspective, they're just a pile of dysfunctional folks. Except Souta. He's a precious bean that managed to avoid Kyoko's broken state from these parents.

Ok so this how you become couples without even saying i love you, well that just shows IT'S A MANGA (Do not try this in real life)
Well... they did. Technically. Or, rather, they did indirectly, and then Izumi confessed to her while he was thinking she was awake, then they just confirmed about it and that Kyoko heard everything before Kyosuke showed up, so basically it was waiting on her answer, which... well... she gave after Kyosuke asked if they were dating. It's not really that complicated. There was technically a confession and a reply to that confession, it just followed an unorthodox approach. Nothing wrong with that.

I get that Kyosuke is quite entertaining and all that, but, to me, there's a vibe like he's a big reason why Kyoko turned out so violently reactionary and emotionally unstable/vulnerable. He's why she's been so much trouble to get close to for Miyamura. So, yeah, even though he helped speed things up here and now, maybe it wouldn't have been so bad in the first place if he was a better father to her earlier in her life. Arguably being so friendly now doesn't make up for whatever made her be like this. As they say, the damage is done.

I mean, we don't know the why of his involvement, specifically, but considering how Kyoko is reacting to her own dad, there's clearly bad blood. Souta seems happy, but he's probably too young to know why Kyoko reacts so harshly to their dad. Same for Yuriko, her mother, to an extent... I mean, she doesn't seem like she's about ready to throw punches, but I feel like she's reacting coldly in her own way. But maybe that's more to do with the fact he's almost never home, so it was more just shock for her, I dunno...

Okay, on one hand I kinda like Kyosuke by being so chill with some guy around his daughter and reading the mood correctly as Miyamura isn't someone who would do harm to his daughter... BUT! I can't restrain my urge to kill him, slowly.

It's pretty clear something is terribly wrong in the household, he "went to buy smokes" and suddenly barged in uninvited. Hori is thrilled as much as her mom... but I'll still want to kill him...
