Well, you're bringing a fictional work into reality... And I see that you're complaining about the work because of the type of work it is. It's like complaining about a h3ntai because there's too much echhi.
the "it's just fictional!" is the lamest and most disgusting excuse ever. it's pedophilia, plain and simple, fictional or not.
if the work is a pedophilic relationship, what do you think the chances are, then, that the author is a pedophile as well? and that you're not only supporting a pedophilic author, but actively helping normalize the way they frame children, the way they sexualize them, the way they want you to see that relationship as “romantic” or “tragic” or “complex.” and doing that for other pedophiles as well, enabling them. you’re feeding into exactly what they want: people shrugging it off because “it’s not real,” while they get to write their fantasies out in explicit detail without anyone questioning it.
and even if the author
isn’t a pedophile, which, honestly, is already incredibly doubtful at this point, you’re still consuming and defending content that sexualizes minors. you’re still helping create a space where that kind of writing is tolerated, excused, hell, even praised and defended. and that absolutely affects real victims. it shapes the culture we all live in.
so no, it’s not harmless, no, it’s not “just a story,” and no, people aren’t “overreacting.” if someone gets uncomfortable, disgusted, or angry at that kind of content, they’re right to. pretending that pedophilic media exists in a vacuum is naive at best and enabling at worst.
