its a short story, jst let it pass......

for the context, she is really want to know her more, you can see by "There's no way i can like (love) someone" (the girl she love said) and then the next page, she say something like "Even if we return / become as a friends again, ill still never give up to reach you" but when her mom calling her about the news...... the girl that she love is now only become the part of her memories. Thats all i can understand from the story.


All of the simple words, you can expand it along with the illustration.

At first i think her crush dead. Implied. like you. But:
@HauntedPizza guess what ? ready for a completely opposite hypothesis !

why she get the news from her mom ? Why her mom know about a friend of her dead way before her ? it unusual. And there is not that much context showing their family near by like next door childhood trope or something. it will make more sense if she get the news from teacher when they announce it with the class., for example
Then i look at it again and the photo from this picture showing, who is that ?

it in the same page with the call, and why it there ? what it mean ? And the kid have the same hair color as her. So that mean the lady is her mom and her. Which make me think her mom is dead, not the girl friend. Her family call her to tell her about it. Then the whole "i fall in love with you again" after these "your kindness, affection" is actually when she is there cheer her up.
