Japan has pretty long held gaps with management, bonuses and gender based wage gaps (the gender gap from a quick Google can be as big as 24-25% :c )

+ I assume her mum left behind a lot of things that never got taken care of in the house, or hospital bills/living expenses/potential loans or debts :c

So with all that combined I can see why the poor MC is constantly struggling for money, it's at least a relief she's super good at managing meals, bills and takes very good care of her belongings.

I'm so glad she ended up with a dad who gave her so many useful skills and loving memories to keep going with. And now she has her auntie too, and a very loving set of coworkers.

(I just reread the series BC its been a while and I'm feeling very emotional lol)

i mean, given the beginning of the series with her mom being hospitalized/likely dying early while she was still wearing a uniform, i'm sure bills have piled up and it'd probably be rare to ask for/expect a raise without also trying to get a 'better' position/climb the corporate ladder

MD says ch 14 should be the last chapter, idk how short their other works are tho, but mangaka also made Lunch Zake which also has an appeal if you like the foodie vibes of this
