To think you have to be "worthy" of gifts is a bit sad, but to be fair that amount might be a bit over the top haha

800 euros for a reindeer pelt sounds too much.
It doesn't sound much to me.
I don't know how much it is usually but I wouldn't be surprised if it could go for a higher price. High quality processed fur can be quite expensive and rare.

If I google the prices, in my native language considering I live in a country sporting reindeers, a large first class pelt can be bought for as cheap as 89 euros, with prices typically going up to something like 150. If it's not treated/processed for indoors/decoration use, the prices start from 50 euros, by the looks of it. Keep in mind that reindeer pelts aren't from 100% wild animals. Finnish, Swedish, and Norwegian northernmost parts are reindeer husbandry regions. The reindeers are only half wild. There are a lot of them! But I suppose it would also depend on where you buy it. Most certainly there ought to be places that rip off tourists.

Wow I didn't think it'd be so cheap?!! Such a large pelt scarf is so cheap? Anyway I just link this type of good as a luxury since it's really rare in my country, it's not that cold here, and reindeers ? lmao
I've learned something today, thank you.

On the flip side, reindeer meat is expensive. Perhaps there just isn't enough demand for the pelts in the modern times. I didn't really spend time reading the pages, but a quick glance revealed reindeer pelts tend to lose fur easily. That might affect their convenience and thus demand.
