Not sure dress shoes (page 26) are what a chef should be using in the kitchen.

Normally you'd want the ice to be at least 5cm (2 inch) thick to carry an adult person, 10cm (4") average would be even better since the ice cover can be uneven, but half a centimeter (1/5") is enough for an ice fisherman.

I don't know when this story is set, but assuming this is around the 60s from the old names alone, Aadolf may have fought in WW2 or possibly even the Lapland wars?

It's definitely modern day, we see modern technology (smartphone, computer, camera, etc.)

Author is definitely playing fast and loose with his background: ww2 was the last time finnish army saw active combat, but Aadolf is definitely not old enough to have fought in it. In previous chapter he said he has been in the army longer than Jun has been alive, but in the pictures of his early days at the hotel he is too young for that beeing possible. In this chapter he seems to have vary bad memories of his time in the army, and yet he kept all his gear and kept up with the training...

Ahaaaa that's a bit of an error on my part. He literally says "How many years do you think I was in the army?" but I wanted to give it some more oomph to match the more impactful tone (and I didn't know all this backstory was coming). I'm going to go back and edit that page now~

There are a lot more inconsistencies that are definitely not your fault: for example, Kustaa doesn't seems to age, while Aadolf is secretly a time traveler. In the flashback where they polish cutlery on Christmas eve, Aadolf looked very young, definitely below 30, and yet he supposedly had already left his long service the army, while Kustaa looked exactly the same and had already adopted her daughter. Even if we frame the manga in the late 2000 (digital camera from the photographer guy), Aadolf should be around 80 to have seen active combat, he should be less than 50 if we go with his early looks and Kustaa's daughter age, all while looking around 60...

I'm not sure he ever saw action though? Being in the army and actually being deployed are different things. I could be wrong, I haven't read the older chapters in a while.

He always refuses to talk about his time in the army, and the only time he did, he said he left because he didn't want to see more friends die.
