I wonder about that "feels like home" wish for a hotel. Metsäpeura is mainly a vacation hotel as well, I reckon, though naturally some corporation or organisation could use it for a business meeting as well, even if it's more trouble to get there than having the meeting in a big city. Travelling experts could use it as well if they need to work on something locally for a few days. But if it's mostly tourists, do they want to feel like they are at home? Isn't a vacation trip mainly about not being at home? There are a lot of things to worry about and take care of at home, but in a hotel, apart from personal care, the staff will handle it.

"Laatikko" is typically translated into English as casserole. That's the word in Finnish for foods of that kind, not just Christmas dishes, for example macaroni casserole, "makaronilaatikko".

I think it is more about being comfortable and cozy in terms of "feels like home". They want their guests to have a great experience and no discomfort as if they were at home.
